My third time, and by far the best, experience with this wine. This bottle was much more along the lines of what it's fans enjoy about it. Deep garnet, opaque color. Barely, if any bricking. Classic Bordeaux and Lafite....notes of sweet wet earth, graphite, mushroom, dried herbs, cigar tobacco, creme de cassis, and cedar. Full bodied, and still plenty of life with some backbone for further cellaring, although I don't see this getting any better, nor was it closed in. Improved over the 1st hour after opening, plateu'ed the second hour, and then a slow decline through the 3rd hour until finished. Long finish. At it's peak. 94 pts.
So much wine.....so little time!!!

I haven't had this wine for a few years now, but I'd tend to agree that it's as ready as it's going to be. I still have 1 bottle left of 6 that I bought and will probably open it this fall with rare prime rib.

Pretty much at its peak, made me fall in love with Lafite Roshschild. The finish is just something else. Guess I am a bit jealous and reminiscing, it is not a wine you forget.

Well, sure.
In fact, I'll go you one better. I put your monicker on the bottle with masking tape this morning. Offer expires end of 2010. The beef will be overdone by then.
Tick, tock... tick, tock...
