20 years ago I lived and worked in the Napa Valley and was very familiar with the wineries- however I've been out of touch since. I'll be going up there this weekend with someone special and would like to limit our visit to four or five wineries all day. If you could only go to four or five wineries in the Napa Valley- either for tasing or for tour, which would you go to?
Thanks |

Welcome to the boards. Try the search function, focusing on the Wine Conversations and Travel and Entertainment forums rather than Tasting Notes. This has been discussed many times, so I doubt you'll get a lot of responses. Many of the suggestions you'll find in the search are for appointment only places, but it should yield a bunch of "walk-in" ideas, too.
Have a good trip, and post your impressions after you return. |

Two of my wife and I's fav's are Chimney Rock--superb wines in beautiful stetting and friendly staff, and Rombauer if you can get in to see the caves. I would also highly recommend Frogs Leap (tour appt needed!!) for one of the funniest, most down-to-earth wineries. You will hurt from laughing so much!

Palmaz because they are relatively new and the winery is quite impressive. Shafer because the wines are outstanding, they opened a new visitor center last year, and you will likely run into Elias or Doug when you are there. Great people.
