Decanted 2 hours. Opaque brick red color. Layered nose of chocolate covered cherry, cassis, toasty oak, coffee, licorice and tar. It just kept evolving. In the mouth, it was tight, bright acidity, earthy and nice tannins. It's a big wine, it paired very well with an Earthy Brie styled cheese. It could use 3-5 years. B+/A-

Great notes. I popped one of these at the Italian offline in April. No notes, but agree with your assessment. Good stuff, needs time.

Although, I'd grade it a crocodile, Wink.

Word on the street is Jason Bateman confirmed the movie will be made next year.

Berno,

That's been the rumor for a while now, but I sort of feel like it will be made. Momentum is building.

On another note, I just saw Michael and Rita in Hancock. Jason Bateman was definately Michael, but no Mr. F. moments for Rita, Frown. She looked good though, even without the raccoon skin cap.

Great notes, thanks! I completely agree that the '99 needs a few more years...but for you di Neri fans, the '00 is drinking very nicely right now.

I was at a tasting back in Feb and thought the '00 was about the worst wine at the tasting!!

Sarbuze, CP, I think you both could be right. I've drank from about six bottles of the '00 in the past year, and while it doesn't have nearly the glorious complexity of the nearby odd-numbered years, it's a good to go drinker that does well with some cured olives and EVOO/bread. And, can be found at a good price.
