Had this blend (60% Merlot, 35% Cab Sauv, 5% Cab Franc)last night with prime rib, sauted mushrooms, asparagus, and rice.
The wine was highly extracted with a deep, deep crimson color. It had an astringent, though not unpleasant (oak? olives?) odor, which opened up to more strawberry aromas after about 15 minutes.
This wine had the legs of a supermodel -- it looked like syrup flowing back down the inside of the glass. The strawberry flavors continued on the tongue with a bit of cinnamon midrange and finishing with smoke and balanced tannins.
All in all, a very nice wine that should get better over the next few years. I wish I had a few more bottles.

There is a store in Rhode Island that has this wine in stock. They will ship to California. The name of the store is Vickers Liquors. There telephone # is 401-847-0123. Mike Parody is the person to talk to. I do not know if this is a good price but they sell it for $45.99. Hope this info helps. I will certianly keep my eyes open for this wine.

Wino, thanks for the info. I don't know what I originally paid for the wine. I suspect that it may have been a gift. What a QPR! There's no price like no price.
