  • 2006 Perrin & Fils Vacqueyras Les Christins - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Vacqueyras (6/20/2008)
Still young but a nice earthy, ripe cherry, coffee and straw/hay odours permeate the senses. Lots of berry and cherry notes with some fine french oak integration on the palate. Subtle tannins with medium acidity but a little sharp around the edges due to youth. Medium long cherry and hay finish. Very nice. 90+ (90 pts.)

This is a very consistant wine, and a teriffic QPR. I have not had the 2006 but I have had the 2005, 2004 & 2003 and they are all excellent, especially for under $20.
