This is my first posted tasting note so please be kind. My son,s father in-law was kind enough to bring this to supper while we we in Portland last week When opened, the immeadiate area filled with wonderful smells of berries, jam, and mom,s fresh out- of- the-oven spice cake.Amazing aroma, I have not experienced that before. The taste: huge mouthful of berries, cherries predominant, almost velvety on my tongue. The tannis were there, but just, sort of lurking in the background. The finish seemed to go on forever. A wonderful wine! The most enjoyable I have tasted so far in my short wine life.
What could go wrong? That is a very expensive wine, I'm glad you had the opportunity to enjoy it. My wife gave it to me for my birthday 3 or 4 years ago, and I'm thinking about selling it (when she's not looking) !
