Why the hell am I opening this? Clearing space my friends. Making room for some Bdx coming in. Besides, from what I've read, it is an early drinker, so opened last night, and finished this eve. This was a present, but I think this retails for around $40.

A great nose that faded gradually over 24 hours. Somewhat reminiscent of Cali Cab on the nose, with rich sweet plums, lots of cherry, cinnamon, currant. Nice acidity, with cherry on the palate, a bit of citrus, plums, touch of rust, and oregano on the second night. Tannic as you'd expect, but in check. If you have a few bottles, worth opening one for a looksee, even at this young age. 91pts.

That was exactly my thought when reading the title of the TN Wink
Seems to have been a pleasant experience anyway, nice TN.

Never heard of this one IB and it's not even on the Consorzio producer list I have. Confused

Hi Steve,

I took a closer look at the bottle, and it doesn't appear to be a second label of somebody else. Here's the number off the DOCG label: AAA 01193168. I can't find my Consorzio bookmark. Can you link it up?

Cheers,

IB, no results on the Consorzio search based on the DOCG label.

Fut,

Strange. Checked the boards, and I see that Bdublu wasn't able to find his on the Consorzio site either. Clicky. Weird.

If I recall, I don't think you need to be a member of the Consorzio to make Brunello. The majority producers are, however.

Since they seem to also sell Barlo and Amarone I would assume that they are a marketing company as opposed to a producer.
