Found this WS 91 point rated Bordeaux for $15.99 at Costco and picked up a six pack. Most likely needs a few years to lay down, but has anybody tasted it? Notes?

OK - so I popped one of them. Decanted for 4+ hours. Very dark inky color with blackberry and cassis nose. The tannins are soft but also very much there. Woodsy and chewy (fresh green wood) with cedar and lots of fruit. Medium Rare grilled Rib-Eye tamed the wine a bit and I have half a bottle left to check out later tonight.

A very inexpensive way to check out a young Bordeaux and see how it will change over time.

A newly released Bordeaux and we have 3 SEPARATE threads on this wine already. Picking the oldest...

2005 Château Caronne Ste. Gemme - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc (9/13/2008)
WIML88-89?

Tasted September 13, 2008 at an offline.

Opened and decanted about 4 hours before double decanting back into the bottle and serving 1 hour later. Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, fairly clear hue throughout. Nose of fennel up front with some added notes of berries. Mostly singular flavors of berries on the palate at the moment. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium body. Hold. (89 pts.)

Bella, I did not know you were still drinking wine. All I ever see is your dining post. Wink
