Tasted June 1, 2007 at an offline. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Yellow color in the glass, slightly opaque throughout. Huge nose of nutmeg, hazelnut, crème brulee and paraffin. Big and juicy palate of cream, pineapple, pears and yellow apples. Medium acidity, full body. Drink over the short to medium term. (94 pts.)
Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.
2004 Aubert Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (6/12/2008) Paul Drinks a Cheval Blanc (Houstons - Irvine, CA): This wine seemed to improve and become more delicate and nuanced the longer it sat in my glass. Rich notes of creme brulée and lemon custard evolved into a silky melange of tropical fruits and hard spices. Good supporting acidity nicely balanced out the ripe palate. A delicious and remarkable wine. 92-93 points. (92 pts.)
