Drank this Sunday after a day spent in the yard cleaning up. I confess in advance I love this wine.

Beautiful, clear dark ruby color in the glass. Powerful berry nose, with a bit of licorice flavor. The taste has great balance in the mouth, berry and plum flavor, wonderful finish. This wine has never disappointed me. Always a great bottle of wine. Powerful, balanced fruit. Classic cab. Should last another ten years.

I paid way to much for this wine at auction, but am glad I did.

WS rated 92 and 94 and Parker rated at 93 from 92-95 start. This is a 95 for me.

Thanks for the notes!

I tried the 94 once at a tasting, I remember the unbelievably perfect balance. I have some 95 and 96, and those wines are also amazing. In the world of high prices I have to admit that the current retail value of $60-70 makes this wine a great QPR.

Thanks for the notes. Been purchasing futures since the 1994 vintage and I'm trying my best to be patient. By the same token, I've been looking for an excuse to have one of those 94s.

I am not a fan in any sense of the word of Cali cabs, but this is THE one that started me on the road of throwing large sums of money at wine. I have 1 bottle left, and when I first had it, it was my "Eureka" moment. Thanks for the notes.

Now we're talking. Spottswoode, one of my favorites. I have consumed 3 this year and have 3 left. 94 is my favorite, the 93 I tried earlier this year was good as well. I think it is getting a little pricey...but whose aren't?
I love the winery and the people there. All-around great stuff.

I have some 95 Spottswood I have been kicking around the idea of opening. My wife and I were married in 1995 so I have lots of 95 Cal reds. I hear the 95 spottswood is stunning.

Also, try/recommend their S. Blanc. 1 of the best.

And, if available, Olive Oil. Good Stuff.

Any thoughts or TNs on the '97. I have only one. I would imagine this should be held for quite a while.
