Shied away from this at mailing list price, but at $49.99 decided to try it out. Gotta check out Sangiovese efforts in the US.

This is 60% cabernet, with 17% Merlot, 18% Sangiovese, and 5% Petite Syrah.

You could see it has an orangier color than a pure cabernet.

Really seemed to sense the Petite syrah on the nose and tasting it, but probably because I don't know what I'm doing.

This drank well at cellar temperature and as it warmed. Dark brambly fruit on the nose. The non-Cabernet grapes add a lot of interesting complexity... I would taste and try to identify which grape was showing what flavors. Tannic and young, but smooth tannins. A big, impressive wine... I was happy to have tried it. Nice effort... although the mailing list prices are a little crazy high. 91-92pts.
