Don't know if you'd remember the wine you gave as a gift during our 1st offliner in LA (seems like a long time ago, eh?) but I hope you enjoyed the Clos Apalta as much as Sandy and I did the '99 Flowers Camp Meeting Ridge Pinot.

I'm guessing Board-O and others are right on queue w/the 7 yr. drinking window for 'most' CA pinot nior; at 6 yrs. + this wine is surely hitting full stride.

Deep ruby color, no bricking, and some slight opaqueness, though no sediment. Big fruity nose w/strawberries, sweet cherries, cola, graham crackers and sweet oak; all the same and more on the palate - mid-full bodied and long on the finish. Round, full, delicious - 92 pts., one of the top two or three PNs I've had.

Thanks again, kiddo, we'll need to get toghether somewhere/time in the near future. Say hello to Mr. PE (wait a minute...that just doesn't sound right).

"Actually, it only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth."
