Ordered a bottle with dinner at a restaurant. Not decanted Confused. Really dark purplish-red colour with no light coming through it. Powerful aromas of dark fruit, spice and earth. Excellent blackberry and chocolate flavours up front with vanilla on the finish, which was medium length. A little extracted, but really good wine for the money that is definitely not showing all it has yet. I'm holding mine for at least another 2 years before trying again. 90 pts now with potential for a couple more if the finish improves with time.

Thanx for the TN's! Muchly appriciated as I have some in my wine fridge right now. I have never tried it, but I am wondering if I should buy some more. Its $33Can per bottle which isnt to bad for our area.

Sounds like a good wine... I need more money.

Yes it is $33Can here in Saskatchewan. There are still alot of bottles left if you can make it up here. If you ever travel through Sask, stop in at a Liquor store. Some high end wines are very inexpensive. The wines under 20 or 30 dollars kill us though, thats were they make all their money.

Jason

Some other notables are:

2000 Chateau Beau Site ~$36CAN
2000 Chateau Malecasse ~$39CAN
Get up here and help me drink them... too many bottles to drink all by myself.

15 months later I can't recall why it wasn't decanted. Restaurant didn't have any decanters left or some other lame excuse.

We opened a bottle of this for Memorial Day with steaks on the deck. Has anyone had this lately? Is it closed or what?! If I had a Hoover vacuum cleaner for a nose I might have been able to pull a hint of bouquet. There was little to nothing there! It was not much better on the palate. Flaccid, flat, a tiny bit of tobacco, little to no fruit. Quite a disappointment really. Will try the rest of the bottle tomorrow in the hopes that it will improve. Any one else have this lately?
