Opened both bottles at 5pm. At first the Liberal had a nose of earth and some funkieness, thought that it might have been corked. The Col d'Orcia Brunello di Montalcino Reserve, had a nose of light fruit and cardboard...Now its almost 7pm... The Haut Bages is wonderful, good fruit, earthy, very smooth, no harsh tannins, medium bodied and a nice 20+ second finsh. A great buy for $30 at auction. The Brunello, opened up to be very fruity, almost zin like, med/full bodied...with a 30+ second finish which ended dry...The Liberal should be drunk now but the Brunello has enough tannins and fruit to last up to 5 years...
