These wines were tasted at a food and wine show for retailers:
2006 Montes Alpha Syrah - Great syrah color and aroma, very smooth. 2004 Montes Alpha M - What a nose, like silk on the palate. For me, the wine of the tasting. Everybody was buzzing about the 2005, which received 95 points, however the 2004 received 94 points. Could be flying under the radar based on that 1 point difference 2005 Luigi Bosca Icono - Outstanding. Really young in my opinion. Massive color and tannins, could age for 15-20 years. 2005 Luigi Pinot Noir - Good varietal charchater, with fair acidity. 2002 Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon - Good, but nothing special. 2005 B.R. Cohn Pinot Noir - Very nice wine, great acidity and Pinot Noir to the hilt. 2005 B.R. Cohn Merlot - My second wine of the tasting. A nbose that reminded me of espresso and a great mouthfeel. 2003 Speri Amarone - Nothing special. 2004 Macarini Barolo Brunate - Very nice and drinking surprising well. A could not miss for Nebbiolo. |
