Wonderful aromas of sweet blueberries, mint, herbs, lead pencil, light cedar and mocha fill the glass. There’s a streak of ripe acidity runs through the sweet, dark blackberry fruit. Despite a slightly overly oaked finish, it displays pleasant mocha, black pepper, black licorice, toast notes and soft tannins. 87
I believe I read somewhere that this is the biggest selling wine in Canada, or perhaps only in Ontario, and that Wolf Blass exports more wine to Canada than even the US or UK.
If you were to take a poll of friends of mine that are moderate drinkers, their philosophy is "All Yellow Label, all the time," so that statement is probably pretty true.
I make suggestions on other wines that they could try that are better for the same price (not that Yellow Label is awful or anything), but they don't bite. Oh well.
Same thing out here in Alberta. I know it is the biggest seller in restuarants, and might be the biggest in retail as well. Not bad, just not that great. You can buy it out here for around $12-14 a bottle, so at least it's not expensive.

I don't recall seeing it on restraunt lists here in Chicago. Also, I think I bought this for $10-12 in late 2001 and while there are better deals out there, there are certainly a lot of worse wines for more. I found it to be decently enjoyable, but I don't know if I would buy more for the price.
I must agree. I think people order it beacuse of the consistancy and the fear of trying something new. I have to constantly fight some of my co workers wehn we go out to dinner to try something else.
