Brought this to an excellent rest. in Rochester, NY this weekend and it went beautifully with the tasting menu my father and I chose.
Quite dark and crimson in color with that classic aged Bordeaux nose upon opening. No decanting. This wine was consumed over a 2 hour period and never let up. In fact it gained weight as the night progressed.
The wine delivered an abundance of black fruits, food friendly acidity with plenty of earthy forest floor with more tobacco than I would have expected. As time progressed the nose took on a fresh cranberry and violet undertone that added 1-2 pts to my final score. an excellent wine that IMHO will not get better. Obviously each bottle will be different, but I rate this bottle 93-94pts. A true pleasure to drink and I hope to try it again.

Have one of your '82s in the next couple of months and tell me what you think.

Glad to hear this has finally "arrived"... the last time I tasted these was 6 years ago; it was good but still closed. I have 3/4 of a case left in my locker in Chicago. Sounds like it is peaking but will stay at its prime for a while if it held for the entire 2 hours.
I always wanted to be a procrastinator.
