My first ZD experience, certainly won't be my last.
Non-malo chard w/extensive barrel aging (so sayeth the label). Very clear straw colored w/lots of clear legs. Notes of spiced apples and peach; flavors of tart white peach, cinnamon, nutmeg, sweet apple, accompanied by a long, fruit and spice-laden finish. 92 pts., don't know the retail price but it was $76 at the restaurant.
Paired perfectly w/Mrs. K's oak-grilled red snapper and tomato-mushroom risotto, and my macadamia nut encrusted sea bass and garlic mash w/grilled sweet potato spears. Yum all the way around.
...hey, chief - you gonna finish that bottle?

I've been a fan of the ZD Reserve Cabs and Chards for several years now... Certainly not inexpensive (retail on this wine is about $44, so you did well in the restaurant), it is a solid 92+ points year in and out.
Glad to see another fan on board!

Used to drink a fair amount of their regular chard bottling. The '99 was pretty good. For the $20-25 range however, I got sidetracked to other wineries.
