  • 1999 Château Lynch-Bages - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac (10/27/2005)
    Initially a gamey nose with dense earth-driven notes, graphite, and dark fruits. Picks up a more agreeable red cherry note with time, shows some vanilla. Good weight but overbearing tannins which, in the wine's youth, mask the fruit to some extent and seem unbalanced. ***-/5
