Had this with maple smoked breakfast sausages (for supper, leave it alone, Board-O! [Mad] [Wink] ) two nights ago, not the best match but what does one drink with breakfast sausages (my eyes on you B-O.....)? We also had a bottle of 2001 Lingenfelder Bird Label Riesling (separate TN) with it, in the hope that one of them might match well. They didn't, really.

Anyway, I wasn't as crazy for this as I thought I'd be. It was certainly good, and good value at CAD$17, but a bit too grapefruity for me, almost tart in fact. I had some later in the evening, and last night as well, and it was the same (not the fault of the sausages, in other words....). WS gave it 89 points, I'd give only 84, well behind the Nobilo Autumn Harvest (CAD$14, CAD$11 on sale!).

Bought two of these accidently when I reached for the unoaked Chard. Wasn't that impressed. For the money I'd stick with Giesen or Brancott for the SB. We do like the Chard. -- no oak.

I must say I've never been a fan of Kim Crawfords sav blanc's. Like Bman, I've always found them too grapefruity.
He was the wine maker at Coopers Creek Vineyards and I didn't really enjoy the sav's there until he left. I like his reds though. Both the wines under his label and the Obsidian and Weeping Sands labels are all pretty good. His chards I've found vary from excellent to average.
