Price: $60 Decanted: No Temperature served at: 50F going up to low 60's over 2 hours Food Pairing: Grilled scallops in margerine, also real artisinal Alsatian munster cheese Alcohol: 13.6% (surprisingly high for a 1992, IMO) Colour: Deep golden Nose: Floral, tropical fruits, muted berries even Taste: All tropical fruits, citrus, mangoes, pineapple etc, semi-sweet, full-bodied, unctuous but not syrupy Finish: When interspersed with the scallops and the cheese, quite long & layered, the veggies shortened the effect.
Comments: This is probably a top 5 white wine ever for me, the equivalent of a great vintage 1er cru at a fraction of the price, plus extremely helped by judicious food pairing. I have not experienced such liveliness ever in an 11 year old white wine. I don't know if this is an expression of great terroir or winemaking, but that's irrelevant at the moment! Words fail me, but well worth the price nonetheless.

I knew you'd weigh in. You know, you could just as easily be named MplsAlsatianDude!
BTW, I forgot to mention tastes like minerals & wet stones, but dinner was going along so nicely, we opened up a 375ml of 1998 Paul Blanck Grand Cru Furstentum Tokay Pinot Gris to help finish off the munster, so that could've been a major contributing factor to the words failing me! This was a very good bottle, and half the price of the Z-H, a bit sweeter, but just not in the same class, IMO.
