Very mellow resiny sweetness, red fruits, they are there, but blended seamlessly and hard to distinguish. If I had to guess cherry and plum. Great aged character.

Thanks for the note, spo. Could you edit the name of the wine to read Campaccio so it's searchable by its proper name?

No problem.

This wine is a long time favorite of mine, although pricing has moved it's value. It is not the beauty it used to be in the mid to late 1990's and the price has left me spending my money elsewhere. I prefer the 99 and 97 of course, but still crack this bottle when I am looking for predictable quality. A very consistent producer and Roberto Guldener, a class act.

Agreed on the 1997 and 1999, escape. I have one each left. Looking for an excuse to do a mini vertical.

Looking to do the same thing with a vertical. I still have some 97 and 99 Riservas to throw in as well. Works well with game meats.
