Great nose and legs. Offers black cherry, spice, and hints of flowers. Long, balanced flavor packed aftertaste. This wine was still tight, with plenty of fruit to last. It opened up some during the night (only about 1-2 hours.) I will open my other bottle in 2004/05. And maybe splash it.
I don't know if the WS rating of 94 is deserving, maybe 90-92.

This wine has been discussed here at much length. General consensus (at least here in NJ as part of a blind tasting) is that this is a phenomenal bottle of wine and is drinking excellent right now. We had scores on this bottle ranging from 94 (me) up to 98. Mentioned in the same breath as '94 Harlan by one poster whose palate is fantastic. I think you may have gotten a bad bottle, if that is possible considering you still gave it 90-92 pts. Just my opinion.
