One of the best values from an excellent vintage. This is the first and only wine I've ever bought a case of.

Having gone into a protracted dumb phase several years ago, this glorious wine is emerging nicely.

Very decent length to a palate of rich black cherries with slight licorice and tar notes. Some typical Bordeaux minerals lead into tannins that are still pretty formidable but the French oak imparts rather smooth vanilla flavors. Surprisingly it didn't really become more expressive on Day 2, but rather slight closed down which I thought odd. I would rate this wine an A- right now and believe it will benefit from more cellaring.

Thanks for the note.

I've had this wine on 3 different occasions, and I own 4 more bottles. I really like this wine. According to my cellartracker notes I've felt this is a 91-92 point wine that is in need of a few more years (last tasted 2/08).
