From 375. Inky black in color. Initial nose was not promising. Seemed muted. However, this opened with air. Notes of blueberry and blackberry. A good amount of smoke and spice. Much better than I remember at the winery. Develops a slight sour-cherry note on the finish. Short-Medium length finish, and the flavor seems to get a tad thin. Very nice wine... would score it higher if the finish were better. 89-91 points. (90 pts.)

I had this a few months back and I would agree with your assessment. It had some attractive flavors and good structure but in the end it left me wanting a little more extract and complexity. An 89 for me.
