BYO Dinner at the Mill Pond House - Centerport.
Board-O, Wine Wiz and other LI'ers - Definite offline potential -stay tuned!

General Impresions. Did not take very detailed notes:

2001 Beaux Freres PN

Opened straight from bottle. Rasberry, spice, herbs, silky tannns, incredible finish. 94 - 95 points. One of the 2 or 3 best Pinots I have ever had. Delicious. WOTN

1997 Allegrini Amarone

Paired with LI Duck and wild berry sauce Big Grin

Decanted 3 hours, which seemed perfect. Cinnamon, raisin, mint, perfect tannins. Super finish. 93 points.

Thrilled with the first two - as they were the ones I brought!

1998 Van Asperen Estate Cabernet

Nose was not giving much. Subtle cab, not a "boomer". Strawberries, Chocolate, and a little spice. Smooth with a moderate finish. A little short. Definite 3rd place, but decent. 87 Points.

The Loring Clos Pepe would be in the top 3. The Clos Pepe was a little fuller bodied, and very different from almost anything else I have had. I'm digging the "Pinot Noir Thing" lately. One or two of them find there way into my cart now, where 6 months ago - it was a rarity.

Problem is my PN tastes are dangerously $$$
