Yes,
Very nice Cab. Had twice and even on the second day and thought it is definatly worth the price. I would say 88-90pts. The 2000 is a little lighter in style but still a pleasent bottle of wine. I would probably rate it 87-88pts

SO much wine so little time.

I've been waiting for this response, too. I loved both the Reserve Petite Syrah and Reserve Cab from the '97 vintage. Three cheers for a Sierra Foothills winery!

...hey, chief - you gonna finish that bottle?

I have had the 99 Lava Cap on several occasions and have a feww bottles laid up in my collection.

My notes - A nce general CA cab. Dark color with good clarity. Nose of cherry and oak notes. Smooth on the pallet full of cherry and red fruit. Nice balance between fruit and oak tones. Moderatly comples, but lacks the current & spice intensity. Seems to have a tart note on the mid pallet.Smooth finish of moderate length. My rating: 87pts.

I think Lave Cap calls everything "Reserve", so I don't get excited by that label.
I also have their Syrah & Pettie Sirah, but have not tried the yet.

I haven't had enough Petites to say this one was outstanding or just another bottle but I would say that is was very nice. I would rather buy the Cab though as a better QPR

SO much wine so little time.

Lava Cap is a good general Cab, certainly would not hurt to share one with friends.
