Also, known as a "baby" D'Yquem. My abilities to describe this wonderful sauternes that Blue Oval shared will be piss poor, the only other Sauternes I've had was the '97 Rieussec. My wife, not known for her wine skills, immediately noted that we've had this before. I was suprised she remembered the Rieussec! I found syrupy honeysuckle, tart apple and touches of apricot. I'm leaving a lot of here, so someone else should comment to due it some justice. Pretty damn impressive and well received among the group. 92
Vino Me, you mentioned something about the Wine Discount Center having a dessert/port tasting? What day and time was that on? Gracias.

A lovely, lovely wine. Still youthful in appearance and flavor. Impeccably balanced between sweetness and acidity. Lots of honey, caramel, and pear flavors danced on my tongue. 92+P. A real treat. Thx BO!

There is still a reasonable amount of this around at substantially less than its sibling. I've enjoyed this wine immensely twice this year and put away enough to last a loooonnggg time. Cheers!

This was my first Sauternes and probably runs neck and neck with the ’99 Montelena as my wine of the night. I thought it had a beautiful balance between sweetness and acidity. I gave it a 93-94.
This was my favorite wine of the night. It had a carmel and tropical fruit nose. On the palate it shown a delectible sweetness with distinct apricot notes. A rather intense wine which benefitted from age. Long finish. 92-93 points.
