Second time I've had this wine... I took no notes the first time.

This reminded me of why... I thought, that although it is pleasant and can scratch a Brunello itch... it is decent, not delicious, is somewhat tart and uninspired. 86pts.

While Fuligni is my favourite Brunello producer, I can't say I'm terribly surprised that the 1996 was not showing well. It wasn't exactly a very strong vintage in Montalcino. Average at best, and maybe that's being generous.

I haven't tried the Fuligni in this vintage but other producers wines have been at peak 10 years from vintage if not already on the downslope.
