I picked this up the other night to have with home made pizza last night. It was about $12 and I did not decant.

-rosey-edged ruby in color; 3.5/5 intensity; very clear
-slightly musty nose that never seemed to blow off, initially modest, sweet and grapey bubblegum (not as disconcerting as it sounds), only at the end of the last glass did some of the Malbec character come out in the glass
-thin on the fruit, tart cranberries, gooseberries maybe; quite dry with agressive acidity; slightly drying tannins; a mildly bitter and funky finish; light mouthfeel.

Overall, a bit thin and tart- reminded me of a cheap French vin de table. I couldn't tell it was a Malbec until the very very end of the bottle, and by that time it was too late to impress me. I'd give it about an 83- no major flaws, but nothing really going for it either. Not worth the money.

Cheers.

I never drank anything stronger than beer... before I was twelve.- W.C. Fields
