2000 Kenwood Russian River Valley Pinot is a good early drinker. sweet and spicy, it will please many, but don't expect layers. good aromatics from a wine under $15.00
1996 Domaine de la Mordoree Lirac is also in the same price bracket, but this is one's packing. at 7 years of age it seems to have shed most of its fat and has gone into a mellow spicy mode. full of fruit still, it has, what some call, garrigue written all over. great wine from a superb producer. i have about a case of mixed Mordoree wines and they are always a treat. if you ever come across Tavel Rose, don't hesitate.

I drink very little Rose, but I have thought that Tavel makes one of the best ones.
