Dark golden, thick and viscous in appearance. This has a nose of rich honey, spice and you can definatly tell it had been aged in oak for a while, 5-7 in oak acctually. Tastes like a combo of mead and port, the black currants they added come through on the mid-palate with a long lingering finish of honey and spice. Recommended for a night cap or before a cigar.

Nice, I haven't seen a tasting note on mead here before. What was the cost? 5-7 months(?) in oak?
