1978 Remoissenet Père et Fils Richebourg - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Richebourg Grand Cru (5/12/2008) A lot of bottle variation based on the 3 tasted. The best one was absolutly delicious. Ripe nose with hint of chocolate, earthy notes, red berries and prunes. Still very good structure, med body with red fruits still very much alive with earthy notes. Very good length with soft tannins. (92 pts.)
I had the 1978 Remoissenet Clos Vougeot 3 times and thought all three were magnificent. I haven't heard too much about Remoissenet in recent years, but they are wines to seek out.
Just one more sip.

I'm surprised Italian Wino hasn't chimed in here yet. I know he bought some Remoissenet wines not very long ago. I may be wrong, but I thought some or all of them were from 1978.
Just one more sip.

I didn't buy any '78s. I would like to find some in good shape at a reasonable price. I do have the '95 Clos Vougeot but not the Richebourg.
French, Did you recently buy the '78 Richebourg, and if so are there any left?

IW, I haven't recently bought any '78 Remoissenet. I saw some in recent auctions here in Chicago and almost bid on it. I think I tried a bunch of '78 and '59 through a tasting organised by an importer who got the bottles from the winery. They looked like they've been recorked (the cork was almost brand new for the '59) and also relabeled. But my guess is that they may put some of them on the market for a few buyers. I can investigate if you want!
