I am going to do something a little different. I am going to post a TN based on my fathers recollection rather than my own. I have found over the years that my tastes and my fathers are extremely similar.
76% Merlot 11% CS 9% Malbec 4% Cab Franc WOW!! Even though this is mostly made of the merlot grape, it has the qualities of an excellent French or California meritage. Major cassis flavors with cherry, wet earth, and plum flavors from beginning to end. The tannins are so beutifully integrated that it makes the wine just envelope the sides of your cheek. This is one of the best non French merlots that I have EVER had. Since this is the library release it will be very difficult to find. I will ask my son to try and find this for me. This was served with roast rack of lamb with pepperini risotto, sweet pepper rings and natural jus. I would rate this wine 95 pts. Does anyone out there have any bottles of this '95 merlot? I will certainly do a search on wine-searcher.com. If anyone has tried this wine recently, I would love to hear your comments. Thanks IW |
