Ok, I posted and interogatory last night hoping for info got only a little, so here's the start of my TN for this wine.
Purchased yesterday for $25. Bottle in good condition, capsule intact, label ready to fall off, fill to low neck. Cork had some mild rot on outside, but came out easily in good shape. Color is rusty with a hint of brown, and clear edges. Decanted about 1 hr (mild sediment), now showing a lovely smell of leather and wood with a hint of some unknown flower. Not much acidity, and surprisingly tannins are still present, but pleasing. Medium body of leather, prominent cranberries. Medium finish, lasting maybe 20-30 seconds.
I give this 88-90 points in a unique way. It's not often you can buy a wine with this kind of age and class for $25. If you take the age factor into account this wine probably gets a few more points. I'm going back for more tomorrow!
If anything changes I'll update later tonight.
There's a lot of love in the room tonight.

I would agree with you if my name were Robert M Parker, but it's not (I know, you really thought I was him for a while!)
My point by commenting on age is just one of personal preference. This may have been a 90 point young chianti 20 years ago, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to tell how a wine will be in 20 years. I guess what I'm saying is that ageability is a quality to which I give points, and this one gets 'em.
I guess that's not altogether consistent because I would therefore have to deduct points if I didn't think a wine was ageworthy. Maybe ageability is bonus points, and a 100 point petrus would be 105 to me!
