It states on the back of the bottle that:
I opened last night, discarded the synthetic cork, and tried to choke down a glass-I decided it was best if I waited 24 hours instead of the 1-2 hours....So this afternoon (21 hours later):---------- 13.9% alcohol but it seems as if it is much more, Lacking in fruit, but of what fruit there is---Earthy, Spicey, Sour Cherry taste, and very little pleasure in this bottle for me, either over oaked or too tannic, or a combination! 82/85 points----this cuvee isn't very innocent, I'd say more like---guilty! |

A couple of questions:
Did you taste the wine between your first taste and 21 hours? If so, how was it? I've found that a lot of OR PNs have a tart cherry flavor when young that mellows beautifully with age. I'm wondering if this wine might not be far better in 5 years. Just one more sip. |

Board-O I really don't think there is enough fruit to ever make this wine pleasurable! I think its life is short, and perhaps it is just their budget wine....I'll never buy it again! Maybe I rated it too high!
I know you are on the mailing list at Martinelli----so, if this helps---This Pinot is the antithesis of anything made at Martinelli! However, stay tuned, because I am opening another Pinot from St Innocent tonight; from the "White Rose Vineyard". I'll take a chance and say---it has to be better! |
