After winning this bottle by having to root for USC, which was painful since I went to Cal and UCLA, I have been waiting for the right occasion to open it. Prior to heading north for the barrel tasting, my daughter and boyfriend joined us for dinner at a local place that encourages BYO.

The color was a nice deep purple, with slight oranging at the edges. A nose of earth and leather promised complexity to come. The taste was of dark fruit, with a powerful aftertast on the back of the palette. Nice mouthfeel, which encouraged letting the wine lie on the tongue while savoring the different notes. A very nice older Pinot. An 88 on the JB scale.

Forgive me for I have Zinned, and will again ...

NE14Zin, I am glad you enjoyed the wine. We popped another of these over the weekend! I just can't seem to get enough of it. 1 case to go.
Cheers
Joe
