The wine was decanted for about 2 hours.

On the nose the wine was a basket of violet's and dried spices and a touch of smoke. On the palate a rush of ripe plum, blackberry and more raspberry showing the more time it was open. A forward yet balanced mineral streak from start to finish. Still showing chewy yet refined tannins.

I have only had perhaps 24+ Gaja's before this wine, and this was the oldest yet. This is a 20 year old wine with yet 20 more years of life ahead imo.

This vineyard is a hilltop with southern exposure. 95% Nebbiolo and 5% Barbera.

The Sori Tildin have always hit my palate the best of all the Gaja Nebbiolo wines and will age for 30+ years with ease. It is just hard for me to spend what the market demands.

A very special wine at a very special wine dinner Big Grin
