My local Bevmo have this on clearance for $17.49. Reg price is $34.99. WS scored it 90. Has anybody tried this? How long to decant? Appreciate all responses. Thank you.
Great price: buy! I've tasted it a few times, and IMHO this is a Port for the cellar: it has all the structure to last for quite some time. I agree with JS's TN and rating. Should you like to try one now, I'd suggest a decanting time of AT LEAST 12 hours.

Thanks StevieCage. This is obviously the fringe benefit in joining this board. You get great TN advise from the experts.

I went back to the store today and bought all the 3 bottles at $17.49. Also bought a port glass (just one, the wife can't take the alcohol)and a decanter but I forgot to buy the strainer. This would be my first attempt at VP. I plan to open one tomorrow for the weekend.
I'm a newbie to this hobby and I doubt if I can even recognize the nose and the palate like you guys can. I can probably only say if I enjoyed it or not.
ortiz, I agree with SC that the Pocas is likely one of the best QPRs of the 2000 VPs. I've had this 2 or 3 times and have 6 in the cellar. It was selling for $35cdn in Ontario and was reduced to $32cdn a while back.
$18us is a great price. If it's in your budget, buy 3 more and try them over the next 10-15yrs.
You'll notice this is black right out of the bottle, tannic with very appealing tobacco on the nose. Medium sweet, medium to long finish.
Decant it and taste a little every few hours to see how it evolves. I'd suggest 8-12 hrs is when you can start seriously drinking!! Save some for the next day to see how it is after 24hrs.
You'll find this is a great forum to get advice and info but remember to stick to what you like. We've all got different tastes, if you like the Pocus then you've found a great deal, if not, you can move on to another bottle of VP. Tasting different bottles/styles is what makes this hobby so much fun.
