We enjoyed this one, great nose, approachable, acidity to match the sea food, easy drink now.
I would have sworn this was a Burgundy straight out of France. Thin looking, French oak on the nose, that classic French "sourness", a touch of barnyard, violets, plum and cherry, not much other fruit, a "French" Pinot all the way. What a surprise this was an Oregon Pinot. A bit oxidized....looks like it was stored bottle up, so prematurely aged, a touch of ochre in the otherwise cherry-brick color. Closed at first....better after 15 minutes. |
