I thought this wine was very good for the price. Cherry and fruit at the start with a nice lingering finish. Robust bouquet. Full bodied with firm tannins and hints of tobacco. Would rate an 89. WS gave an 84, while RP gave a 90. Bought at Wine Exchange for $9.99.
Personally, I like their "generous" use of oak, and I think they make a pretty good wine- considering I'm normally VERY hard on mass produced plonk. No, not elegant or refined, but an up and coming substitute for over oaked California- I think their fruit is going to be a balanced wine within 5 years. The Casa Real Vineyard, albeit very expensive, is borderline Bordeaux.

W8, I am drinking a bottle, which I opened last night, as we chat. I completely agree with you. This is as good a QPR as there is in the market. Pierre Rovani (WA) is a far better critic of South American wines than WS' James Molesworth, who is all over the place.
I agree with your rating. I think I'll buy a case for everyday drinking.
