I had both of these yummy and reasonably priced whites last night.

2002 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett Halbtrocken: Terrific mostly dry Riesling. A little bit of green apple, a bit of apricot, peach, and some flint, too. 89.5-90

2002 Baccharis Gewurtz: Mango, brown spice, good gewurtz tang. I think this is produced by Navarro -- it certainly tastes like it. Really about as good as the Martinelli Gewurtz I've had, but only $14 (minus discount). 89-89.5

I have enjoyed the 01 Selbach Oster many times and am especially fond of the 01 spatlese. Did you find in the 02 that about 15 or twenty minutes after opening that it took on a sort of sparkling quality before settling down with a little more depth? Just curious because I loved the transition in this wine and was wondering if you experienced the same in the 02?
