There's been a lot of talk recently about the quality of Cline's 2001s. Well, here's a leftover from the 2000 vintage which exemplifies what Cline can accomplish even in less than idea years...
This is classic, wonderful Cline with its purple color, intense fresh fruit, tar and nicely balanced oak. The blackberry fruit is deftly balanced with that wonderful tar edge which is so characteristic of Cline's Contra Costa offerings. Not terribly complex, this wine is a clinic in extraction and balance. This 2000 puts all of the 2001s I've had from Cline to shame. Great stuff! 90 points $21 -Brettay |

Had this two nights ago (with the '00 Ancient Vines zin) and I totally agree with you on this one. Liked the '00 Big Break a tad better methinks but they were tasted months apart.
funny wine quip goes here. |

what's the appellation on this out of curiosity? There's a Zinfandel-lined road in Lodi of the same name
