This is the 2000 Charles Krug, Napa Valley, Carneros Pinot Noir. A light cranberry red in color with the consistency of water. Smelled wood, cinnamon, and plum with hint of alcohol. Tasted the wood and cinnamon, with plenty of plum, some cherry, and hints of vanilla and greenery. A very tasty plum finish. Had this with whole wheat covered veal and italian seasonings, with Alessi's neapolitan bean soup and pasta.
On the second night there was more cherry and greenery flavor, and hints of cranberry and tobacco, with no vanilla, and much less cinnamon. The plum was still present and the wood seemed to stay in the backround, but the longer this wine was in the glass the worse it seemed to get on the second evening.
