I just picked up two bottles of the 2003. Anyone had this vintage yet?

(and yes, I will try one bottle in due time and post my notes Big Grin)

If you will sned a bottle down to Toronto, TWC will happily drink it in the next offline and post a TN. Razz
Or unless you can tell us where we can get some right now, Toronto allocation probably won't be release until Oct or Nov. Big Grin

aav28,

Accidentally, a certain store in Ontario accidentally received the 2003 vintage as opposed to the 2002 vintage, by accident. And accidentally, I happened to venture into the store and I was accidentally given two bottles of the 2003, all this by pure accident. Big Grin

Supposedly, the warehouse accidentally shipped the wrong vintage.

Accidents do happen Wink

If I'm in TO(accidentally of course) I'd be happy to share it with you all offline.

The only professional review I've seen to date on this wine is Steve Tanzer's note:

quote:
Bright medium ruby. Ripe plum and mulberry aromas are a bit sullen, requiring aeration to reveal complicating notes of espresso, licorice and tar. Rich and thick, with roasted cherry and dark chocolate flavors; lacks a sense of energy. Dense, ripe and weighty on the finish but seems reluctant to give up much in the way of nuance today. 88 points.

It was an accident. The 2002 was re-released recently here and the '03 will be in the fall. No '03 should have been released in Ontario.

I will be trying it at a dinner with Chester Osbourn in September which should be great. Slan, Base Cadet and I will be attending. Smile
