This was my first Torbreck and after tonight certainly won't be the last.
Dark ruby colour with a lovely nose of dark berry, toast, and a touch of tarriness. Dense, powerful palate of dark fruit and subtle oak is accompanied with a brilliant acidity and mouth coating sweet tannins. Complex and balanced with a 45 second finish, this wine will go for years. 94 points. |

Welcome to the ranks of Torbreck fans. The '01 is drinking quite well right now as well and is even better (IMHO as well as in the opinion of both Parker and Steiman) than the '99. 'Hope you get to try one soon. Enjoy!

I'd go for it phlin, it really was fantastic. The only point I'd offer is that it took about 20 minutes to really open up and there was a fair amount of sediment, so you may want to consider a short decant.
