I don't drink very, very old Burgundies often but this was a major treat. The wine was bottled by Belgian wine merchant Van de Meulen. I had had a domaine bottled wine from the same vintage about 15 years ago but this was even better. It showed a mindblowing aroma of raspberry sauce and Port with hints of spices and cedar...almost like an old Pomerol. The palate was fullbodied and super silky and sweet with a long, long finish. Gorgeous juice. 98 points

I don't know a thing about Clos du Tart from this time period. My experiences with this wine, only dating to the 1985, have been universally positive, though I've heard that older bottles can be quite variable. There seems to be increasing interest in CdT, with a price increase to match.
