Color: beautiful garnet from the centre of the glass right to the edge. Semi-transclucent.
Aroma: hint of vanilla,earthy notes, maybe a bit of butterscotch, very fresh. No violets or floral aroma at all(strange given the 60% Sangiovese).
Mouthfeel: pronounced tannins but not harsh. Just the right amount of acidity. Great finish for a wine under $20. Medium body. This wine can cellar another year-two easily.
Flavour profile: Black cherry,blackberry, minerally. Flavours linger on account of great finish. No woody notes at all. Maybe could have a bit more fruit. Disappointed there is not a more pronounced Sangiovese tipicity. Could be richer given it's got 20% Cab/20% Merlot and from a great vintage.
Score: I will do one better than WS and give this 90 points. Lovely wine in spite of minor flaws, maybe best Centine I have tasted. As good as the better Chianti Classicos from 2006 but less expensive.

Thanks for the note. The Binny's chain in the Chicago area had these in 5L bottles for $69, so I picked one of a few months ago. Having a big party this coming weekend and making two pans of ground sausage lasagna, and will be popping this big boy. I bought a 750 before buying the 5L and liked it. Hoping the 8 guests agree this weekend!
