Very pale, translucent color; the nose was replete with honeysuckle, ripe green apple and pear, and a hint a candle wax; very, very refreshing on the palate with loads of ripe fruit offset by just enough acidity; a persistent finish with a touch of minerality. The best Oregon Pinot Gris I have ever tasted, by far. 91 Points

Have you had the '07 Sineann Pinot Gris? I'm curious, since I had the Sineann last weekend and really liked it. If you've had both and thought the Elk Cove was better, then I definately need to find some of the Elk Cove.

Sharkey-

I have not tried the Sineann from the same vintage so I can't compare the two. Give the Elk Cove a try and let me know what you think.

I believe the Elk Cove is the most consistently fine Pinot Gris made in the state. I'd put Chehalem's Reserve second.

Just one more sip.

I've never had the Chehalem Reserve, only the standard bottle. As I am a big fan of Chehalem wines, I would love to try the Reserve.

Luckily, I have located a potential local source for the Elk Cove; thus, I'll give them both a try. I'm not finding anything local for the Chehalem; otherwise, I would do all three.

If you ever get a chance to visit Willamette Valley, be sure to visit Elk Cove. It is a beautiful vineyard, and their Pinot is noteworthy as well.

My neighbor just returned from a Washington/Oregon tour. They mentioned Elk Cove was one of their favorite stops.

I was supposed to be on a tour of my own this month; however, the Kilobit decided to join our family five weeks ago. Smile

bez780-

You're probably going to pay much less than I did here in the State-run Wine Monopoly of Utah. Mad
