2006 Turley Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge - USA, California, Napa Valley, Howell Mountain (9/17/2008)
WIML91 Tasted September 17, 2008 at an offline. 15.9% Opened and served immediately. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of Kirsch, boysenberry, rose petals and like the Dusi graham cracker. Flavors of currants and boysenberries. Medium acidity and tannins, medium to full body. Drink or hold. (91 pts.) Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. |

Were you disappointed for the price and appellation? Just curious.

I can't attest to the price because I didn't bring it to the offline and don't own a bottle but the appellation was about as expected. I think just about every Howell Mountain Zinfandel I've had to date regardless of producer has come in around the 90 point marker plus or minus a few. Other than the graham cracker note it smacked of mountain fruit.
